Solid bars are work carried alone. Gold bars are work that requires other people. Diamonds are gates — filled ones carry a written determination to continue. The dashed vertical bands are the four moments where every party converges on the same decision.
The four banded columns are the only places where the resident, core faculty, SME faculty and the program director are all engaged with the same question at the same time. Everything else can slip a week without consequence. These cannot: a determination that arrives late, or arrives with a concern the resident is hearing for the first time, breaks the compact both sides signed.
The two long gold bars carry most of the load. If the continuity hour and the seven-day feedback window hold, the gates take care of themselves. If they lapse, the gate becomes the first honest conversation in three months — which is exactly the failure this schedule exists to prevent.
